Message I'm sure it will probably devolve into another long discussion, but at least we have a post from Russell on the matter.

I read through the entire post. I've never personally gotten involved in the manifold debate or really the classified ad VTDing business because, frankly, I just don't have the time to devote to the community that I used to. Damon is the one who ended up handling the classifieds VTD stuff, and what I saw was that he was attempting to solve the problem given his limited time as well so there was no instantaneous answer. There was no 'this is just the way it is' response to you. The response was, it appears to be legitimate in terms of the pattern we see and it's not the same people over and over. Maybe it was the mob mentality at work, but YOU chose to do what you did rather than trying to work with us to solve the problem properly.

You repeatedly say when responding to criticisms that you don't have time to craft long responses to everything (which is perfectly understandable). Well, we do not run tt.NET as our primary jobs either and our time is also precious. We aren't here 24/7 to monitor and solve issues within a few minutes. It takes a few days or more for Damon and I to sync up, discuss what needs to be done, investigate, communicate, etc. etc. In fact, I was in Canada and Washington, DC most of last week while this was occurring.

My beef is very simple: if you were so unsatisfied with the 'core' over here, and I certainly don't deny that there is a core running around that won't let this thing go, why did you not just call us and stop the sponsorship? I think it's safe to say now that both of us were on the fence for a while now trying to figure out whether it was worth it.

What you consciously chose to do was game the system on purpose, whether proving a point or not, that exploited our website and caused us many hours of grief to figure out what was going on and how to restore everything (as well as decide our response).

If the goal was to 'force a decision by admin' why the hell didn't you just pick up a phone and call us, or give us an email for that matter. We're not unreasonable guys at all and have been trying to maintain the peace for a long time. I don't see how this outcome gives you any better or worse PR than if we had just mutually decided to call it quits.

What you did is no different than if I invited you to a big party, you funded some of the beer money, then came over, drank all the beer, asked us to go remove the guy in the bathroom so you could go, and proceeded to take a shit on the living room rug while we were doing it.

I'm still not sure what your motivations were, and frankly not quite sure if I buy your argument in this post but it is what it is. The end result, and the main difference between us, is that you do this for your livelihood. We run this website because we love it but it's not a revenue generator, which gives us very different motivation.

I do find it sad that it came to this, and I'm disappointed that the guys who run 300zxclub.com thought they needed to participate in it as well. As an administrator of the largest and longest running Z board, I can't imagine disrespecting someone else's hard work so much to pull a stunt like this. I've personally never said a bad word about 3zc because I never felt it necessary or appropriate. The actions speak for themselves in this case.

Oh, and your La-Z-Links didn't work so you might want to repost and link them again.
